Day tour

This tour is suitable for those whose stay in Prague is limited and who would like to see as much as possible in one day.

The tour begins at the Strahov monastery in the Hradcany town, where we can visit the well known baroque library. On the way down to the Castle we will pass by the Cernin Palace, Loretto Church – a baroque pilgrimage place and reach the Hradcany Square. The walk through the castle complex will follow, we will pay a visit to the Cathedral of St. Vitus and then continue down through the Little Town Square, where we will see the Church of St.Nicholas, the Plague Column, the old palaces, nowadays the seat of Czech Parliament. We can visit the Church of Our Lady Victorious with the famous Infant Jesus of Prague. At this point we could take a break and go to one of the traditional Czech restaurants for lunch. After the lunch we will cross the Charles Bridge, walk through the courtyards of the Klementinum, once a Jesuit college, and from there walk to Josefov, a former Jewish ghetto. We will pass by several synagogues and the Old Jewish cemetery and soon come to the Old Town Square. Here we will see the Astronomical clock, Old Town Hall, Tyn Church, we will mention some crucial events of Czech history connected with the Square. From here we will come to the Powder Tower andthe Municipal house – one of the greatest examples of Art-Nouveau architecture in Prague. Before we reach Wenceslas Square – the main square of the New Town and a commercial center of Prague, we will pass by the Estates Theater (best known for the world premiere of Mozart's Don Giovanni in 1878), the Carolinum (Charles university) and an open air market place – Havelsky market). The tour will end in Wenceslas square.
