Prague in the 20th century

This tour is aimed at those who would like to know more about the modern history of this country. You will hear about the 28th October 1918, the day of the declaration of independent Czechoslovakia, the “First Republic”, the Nazi occupation of the country in 1939, the Prague uprising of May 1945 and the Communist putsch of February 1948. I will talk about life in Communist times, about the 21st of August 1968, the day of the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia and about the Velvet revolution of November 1989, which brought about the fall of the Communist regime. In case of your interest we can talk about the present political or economic situation in the country.

On this tour we will visit the Old Town Square, Wenceslas Square, the student memorial in Narodni street and Bartolomejska street.
